One of the things I love the most about the Bookstagram community? The boss babes that inspire me on a daily basis. So many of these readers work full time, mom full time, or do a mixture of both, and still make time to read. But the ones that continuously blow me away are the bookstagrammers that also run small businesses. With everything from bookmarks to bookish t shirts, here are 7 boss Bookstagram babes that also run a small business.
Rachel @happygolovelysleeves

Rachel started her Etsy shop as a little side hustle and it’s now her full time gig. Her beautiful sleeves often sell out within an hour of her posting her stock, so be sure you set a timer on your phone to go off when she announces the time of her restocks! Her gorgeous, high quality sleeves are beloved by so many that she is nearing 5,000 Etsy sales.
In addition to making some of the loveliest book sleeves (see what I did there?) Rachel also speaks openly about mental health and chronic illness on her page. Her authenticity and vulnerability make her a must follow. Come for the book sleeves, but stay for the gal making them.
Jen @_the_bookish_blonde_

Jen somehow opened her own independent bookstore in the middle of a pandemic, and wow, the place is CUTE! Located in Malakoff, TX, the place is bursting with charm and new and used books. Jen has a vision of every patron leaving with a book, so she even offers a small section of free ARCs that cannot legally be resold anyway.
Alicia @alicia_marks_it

If you want beautiful, high quality bookmarks featuring your favorite tv show characters, book character, and bookish sayings, then Alicia’s shop is the place to go! Her hand drawn bookmarks are a ball of fun and I truly think anyone can find something worth buying in her shop. She’s a homeschooling mama to three kiddos and uses this almost full time job as a way to support her book buying habit.
Amanda @shelf.reflection
Click here to shop her Etsy shop, Blade and Brush
Amanda runs on books, caffeine, and social justice, and both her shop and her IG page reflect that. She makes everything from bookmarks to t shirts, and they all look just like something you would buy in a gift shop. Not only are her products stellar, but she’s hilarious, too. I definitely recommend you visit her IG stories on the nights that The Bachelor/Bachelorette is on TV if you want a good laugh.
Brit @bookinasweater
Click here to shop her Etsy
Not only does Brit make gorgeous, high quality sleeves, but she is also one of the kindest people I’ve met on the internet. She started this out as a side hustle in September 2018, but it became a full time deal in June of 2019. She has so many fun patterns! I have a few of hers myself and I love them.
Suzanne @novelnuzzler
Click here to shop her Etsy
Suzanne is another one of those Bookstagram gems that so many people love. She has four sizes of sleeves (the most I’ve seen in any shop!) and even takes custom orders. Her booksleeves were among the first that I owned and have been used a LOT in my reading life. I love them!
Ruth @crafting_mama_
Watch her IG stories every week to purchase!
If you like the thrill of trying to purchase beautiful, reasonably priced bookmarks via IG stories (and once they’re gone, they’re gone!) then definitely check out Ruths page. You definitely need one of her double sided bookmarks for every season, I promise.
Do you have a bookish small business that you love? I want to hear about it in the comments!
